Gender research

The University of Wuppertal considers the integration of relevant gender aspects into the scientific knowledge process to be a quality feature of high-quality research. It has therefore taken significant initiatives to strengthen its gender research profile. This includes the appointment of numerous professors with gender-specific research approaches.

At the centre of gender research activities is the Professorship of Educational Science with a focus on gender and diversity, which is held by Prof. Dr Astrid Messerschmidt.
